Features -  NetOp Remote Control for
OS/2

Remote control:

  • Remote-control NetOp hosts running Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0/3.5x/3.1, Windows ME/98/95, Windows 3.1x, OS/2 and DOS.

  • View host screens as a window or as a full screen.

  • Use keyboard and mouse on host computers.

  • Fast transfer of screens.

  • Security log-ins can be installed on host computers.

Installation

  • Use the intuitive setup program interactively.

  • Use Silent Install to perform multiple installations of Host modules from a network drive without user interaction.

Communications protocols

  • Supports TCP/IP (TCP)

  • Supports TCP/IP (UDP), IPX and NetBIOS.

  • Supports dial-up: ISDN (CAPI) and Serial/Modem.

Security

  • Choose between default and individual guest access privileges.

  • The OS/2 Guest supports Windows Hosts using Windows Security Management (integration with NT security). Guest users must enter their Windows user name and password when connecting to host PCs.

Guest interface

  • This module supports an unlimited number of host tables, and can automatically build tables of available host PCs (IPX, NetBIOS or TCP/IP (UDP) networks).

  • Connect to a host PC via user-defined Host ID, MAC/IP address, phone or ISDN number.

  • It is possible to run several simultaneous remote-control sessions.

  • Restart host PCs remotely.

  • Blank display on host PCs.

  • Lock the keyboard and mouse on host computers.

  • Send Ctrl+Alt+Del and Ctrl-Esc

  • Annotate OS/2 host screens remotely using the “Marker” mode.

  • Scroll through host screens if the content is larger than the viewing window. 

The NetOp file manager

  • Based on an intuitive drag-and-drop interface.

  • Easy to select files/directories, and inverse selections.

  • Split-screen view.

  • Quick and easy to copy, move, synchronise and clone files.

  • Possible to perform delta file transfers.

  • Progress meter, also showing speed (bps) and time left.

  • History list records details of all file transfers performed.

  • Session history shows all file transfers carried out while connected to a specific host.

  • Crash recovery feature.

  • Hot-keys give quick access to frequently used features.

  • Separate file transfer log file created which shows file transfers and programs executed. Easy to use "tree-view" log viewer.

Print redirection

  • Applications running on the OS/2 host PC can be printed out on the OS/2 guest’s printers.

Requesting help

  • It is possible to request help online in real time.

  • It is easy to view all incoming requests for assistance from host users.

  • Hosts can pre-define help request messages and can also choose which guest user should receive the message.

  • Hosts can define alternate protocol to be used when sending help requests.

  • Hosts can define how long help request messages last before being timed-out.
