What is new in NetOp
School 3.0?
NetOp School 3.0 has been updated to include
several important new features. The program now
offers cutting-edge application and Internet
control like nobody else in the marketplace. For
an overview of the new and modified features,
see below. For a full list of features, go to “features
and benefits”.
Primary new functions
Application control -
allow/deny use
of certain applications on student computers.
Introducing Soft-Blocking: Currently open
windows of an application that is blocked, will
be hidden and re-opened when the application
blocking is released.
Internet connection control
–
allow/deny certain URL, etc. on student
computers.
Record and replay
– prepare the lessons by recording specific
actions on the teacher’s computer. Add
microphone sound. Distribute to students for
local replay or demonstrate the pre-recorded
instructions. Record students’ screen activity
during a monitor or remote control session.
Lesson plans
– dynamic lesson plans. Teachers can combine
their presentations with pre-configured NetOp
School actions like Demonstrate [Media
file]. A double-click on the Action
Link and the predefined action is executed.
Send message
– send a message to selected users in rich text
format containing e.g. links to web sites.
Support for multi-monitor
environments
– broadcast only a specific monitor in a
multi-monitor environment.
Demonstrate a selected desktop
area –
broadcast only part of the desktop of your
choice.
Demonstrate media files
– zoom – 50%, 200% or full screen on Student and
Teacher. To prevent network overload while
showing large video clips a teacher may prefer
local playback on student computers instead of
playing from a shared location. In this case the
media file is automatically distributed
if not already residing on the student computer.
Multiple chats
– Word wrap in Text Chat, Customize font in Text
Chat, etc. Let more students chat in different
groups simultaneously. Teacher can follow and
join any group.
Web updates
– all modules can now be updated automatically
from the web.
Windows Server 2003
– support for this platform added (32 bit).
